洪水如猛獸，服務下鄉來

自6月22日以來，截止到6月30日19時，湘潭連續遭受大到暴雨襲擊，導緻全市8個縣(市)區、園區53個鄉鎮街道受災，作為湘潭地區洪水受災區之一，烏石鎮受到重大影響。據悉，覆蓋全縣的100毫米至130毫米的降水，導緻湘江支流涓水河、漣水河、青山河等河流全線超保證水位，由于汛情緊急，洪水期間烏石鎮部分居民被安排轉移。
7月7日上午，伴随着天氣的迅速轉晴，2003网站太阳集团團委學生會組織的一批隊伍前往烏石鎮進行“三下鄉”災後考察和服務。
在到達烏石鎮烏石峰中學安頓下來的第一天，志願者們就意識到了這裡問題的嚴重性。由于烏石峰中學所處地帶以抽取地下水為生，而洪水過後嚴重影響地下水水質，導緻飲用水供給存在一定問題；原本作為本次“三下鄉”志願服務對象的烏石敬老院也遭到洪水襲擊慘遭淹沒；村鎮一些基礎設施同樣遭到嚴重破壞，對居民的日常生活造成諸多不便。然而洪災帶來的惡劣影響還不止這些，“三下鄉”小組将對其他受災情況進行進一步的了解。
針對烏石鎮的受災情況，“三下鄉”小組将以“抗災服務”為目标之一，在克服自身困難的前提下，對烏石鎮的災後救助提供志願服務，為烏石鎮居民提供物質上的幫助和精神上的撫慰，一定程度上減輕洪災對烏石鎮的影響。
